The Truth About Hypnosis
Hypnosis has been hugely misunderstood throughout the years, mainly due to sensationalised stage hypnosis.
Here’s the truth about hypnosis
Hypnosis is just an ability or a skill that all of of have – we are born with it! However, most of us are unaware of it and don’t know how to use it for our benefit.
Did you know?….. You’ve probably been in hypnosis many times!
It’s true!
- Every time you daydream – that’s hypnosis!
- Everytime you drive from Point A to Point B and you’re mind is “somewhere else” – that’s hypnosis!
- Every time you read a good book and you are really there “in” the scene – that’s hypnosis!
These are just some examples but there are many more in your daily life.
So How Does Hypnosis Benefit Me?
Hypnosis is a very quick and efficient method of accessing your subconscious mind – the place where you store all memories and feelings. When we experience traumatic events in our lives, our subconscious mind only allows us to experience the amount of the trauma that we can handle at the time. It “represses” the rest of the event – in other words, it forgets on purpose by storing away the memory in a part of the mind where we cannot find it.
Now that’s great at the time of the trauma because our mind is protecting us. However, those repressed memories can be the cause of problems later in life such as panic attacks, depression, etc., and in order to overcome the problem, we need to go back and find that root cause memory in order to properly resolve it.
