You may be prescribed medication as an immediate first step in overcoming your depression. Medication may help to even out your mood so that you can deal with everyday life better. At the same time, it is appropriate to begin some form of therapy which will enable you to recover sufficiently so that you can function normally without medication again.

Hypnotherapy can help you to understand what the future will be like, free of your depressive symptoms. You’ll also begin to practice more positive thought and behaviour patterns. During the hypnotherapy process, we’ll find and resolve those memories and emotions that lie at the root of your depression. Unlike counselling, hypnotherapy is a brief, solution-focussed therapy. What this means for you is that you can typically expect approximately ten sessions of hypnotherapy (normally one session per week).

Everyone’s life history is different and because of that, every clients depression is slightly different. I offer a free initial consultation so that I can meet you and discuss the nature of your depression. This helps me to understand how you do your depression so that I am better equipped to help you. During this free initial consultation, you’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about hypnosis, hypnotherapy, what to expect, etc. There are two main reasons for the free initial consultation. Firstly, I need to ensure that you are suitable for hypnotherapy and that I believe it will benefit you. Secondly, I like my clients to understand the therapy fully and satisfy themselves that this is going to work for them before they decide to go ahead.
